What is Sapphire FUE Technique?

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant is a surgical application that aims to solve the problems of baldness and thinning in the hair, using sapphire blades. The grafts in the donor area are removed one by one and then placed into the channels created in the area to be implanted. The problems are solved belong to the patient and the desired image is obtained. It takes its name from the sapphire blades used during the operation.

How does Sapphire FUE Technique apply?

The application is performed in a single session. The duration may vary depending on the planning made beforehand and takes approx 8 hours. With the examinations applied to the patient, it's decided whether it is suitable for the transplantation process or not firstly. If there are no obstacles or any difficulties, the treatment planning part begins.

Variables such as the location to be transplanted, the number of grafts to be applied, the determination of the donor area, and the new image to be obtained at the end of the operation are evaluated.

Due to the patient's preference, the application is performed under sedation but it's not mandatory. The graft removal phase is the beginning. If there is a sufficient number of grafts, it's only taken from the neck, otherwise, it can be taken from other areas such as the chest area. Grafts are collected by using FUE micromotors. Both the healing process is accelerated and a healthy planting is ensured in this way.

It's necessary to open channels in the area to be implanted on the scalp of the patient. These channels are opened carefully with sapphire-tipped blades without damaging the tissues and without affecting the blood circulation. Finally, the grafts are implanted in the slots one by one with the FUE method.

What is the recovery process of the Sapphire FUE Technique?

A well-planned Sapphire FUE process can be very comfortable before and after. The patient usually needs to rest in the hospital for 1 day. The first hair wash must be performed by the surgeon. The crusts of the wounds formed with the operation begin to shed within 1 month. Then a process occurs called "shock shedding". Shock shedding is kind of an adaptation and permanent hair starts to grow then. The hair of the patient becomes clearer after 6 months. It's necessary to wait about 1 year to see the full results.

What about the aftercare of Sapphire FUE Hair Transplantation?

Like almost every surgical operation, being a non-smoker and limiting alcohol consumption is one of the main factors to be considered. The operated area should be well protected against impacts since this area is very sensitive in the following few days. The aim is to keep the hair follicles healthy. It's even important to pay attention to the clothes worn for this.

Heavy exercises should not be done for 2 weeks after the operation. It's recommended that the patient wait a minimum of 1 month to return to the routine. Short walks can be preferred instead.
